Scholarships Administered by the Elizabeth Forward Alumni and Friends Association to be Awarded for the 2024-2025 School Year

To Students who wish to apply for a scholarship: The scholarships listed below will be awarded to EFHS seniors graduating in June 2025.
  1. Review the scholarships that may apply to you by reading the information in the first column and then the brief description in the last column.
  2. Click on the scholarship name to learn more about each scholarship and obtain an application for the scholarship(s) for which you want to apply.
  3. Submit your application(s) by February 28, 2025 online to EFAFA.Board@gmail.com. Each scholarship application should be sent separately with the name of the scholarship in the subject heading of the email. All files detailed in each scholarship must be attached as PDF files, not included as links or shared documents.

Students attending a four-year college or universityBonnie Bashforth Memorial Scholarship$500Applicants should provide evidence that he/she challenges him/herself amidst obstacles while sustaining academic excellence and personal accountability, and applicants should demonstrate a financial need.
EFSAF Michael Fleischauer Memorial Scholarship$2,000 (x2)Applicants must provide evidence that he/she has met challenges amidst obstacles while sustaining academic excellence and personal accountability. Financial need should be documented.
Larry Landini Memorial Scholarship$1,000Applicants must have a sustained record of academic excellence and demonstrated leadership skills through extra-curricular and/or community service involvement.
Leonard Moffa Memorial Scholarship$1,000Applicants should have a sustained record of academic excellence and must have a GPA of 3.75 or higher. Awards or competitions, and academic excellence in a technology field would be helpful but not required.
Sandra L. Shank Memorial Scholarship$2,000Applicants should have a sustained record of academic excellence, leadership, and citizenship.

Darla J. Twale Faith-Based College/University Scholarship$1,000Applicants must either attend a two or four-year faith-based institution or demonstrate faith through church attendance and service
Elaine Cray Memorial Scholarship$1,000Applicants must have a 3.0 or higher, attended William Penn Elementary, show academic excellence, leadership, and involvement in school activities and/or community service.
Francis E. Pomilio Scholarship$1,000Applicants should have a sustained academic effort with an emphasis on English, speech, or music; participated in extra-curricular activities and have completed community service and/or have a record of employment.
Amazing Athlete Scholarship$1,000Applicants must be a graduating EF female student athlete who plans to attend a two- or four-year institution, demonstrate academic achievement, and participate in leadership and service activities.
Students attending a technical/trade school, or two-or four-year college or universityRichard Simpson Scholarship$1,000Applicants should have a sustained record of academic excellence.
Martin and Pat Craighead Scholarship$5,000Applicants should have demonstrated a strong work ethic and a proven commitment to the values of integrity and team work as well as sustained academic effort.
The Curcio Family Scholarship$5,000Applicants must have a 3.0 or higher who have demonstrated academic accomplishments or academic potential.
Tanner Faircloth Memorial Scholarship$2,000Applicants must major in business or psychology, or pursue CDL training, with athletic or entrepreneurial background.
Ruby Memorial Scholarship$1,000 (x2)Applicants must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher, attend and be actively involved in his/her church as well as in community service outside the church. 2 applicants will be chosen.
Amy Wallace Memorial Scholarship$2,000Applicants should pursue post-secondary training in general. Consideration will be given to special education or psychology majors, Penn West matriculants, and those who do extra curriculars and community service.
Joseph Ignatius Memorial Scholarship$1,000Applicants should have a 3.0 or higher GPA, pursue a degree in the STEM fields or the arts, and demonstrate leadership capabilities.
EFHS Class of 1975: Make an Impact EFHS 2025 Scholarship$1,000 (x3)Applicants must have a 3.0 or higher, plan to attend a trade school, two- or four- year college/university, maintain a sustained record of leadership and community activities and show how your intended career will make a positive Impact in your community.
Students attending a trade school or community collegeLawrence Howell, Sr. and Elaine Miller Howell Memorial Scholarship$1,500Applicants must plan to attend an accredited trade school or community college and have a sustained record of academic excellence and attendance.
Twale-Leidemann Trades Scholarship$1,000Applicants must attend a trade school or community college in an applied field, demonstrate a strong work ethic, as well as sustained academic effort.
Students whose parents did not graduate from collegePeter F. Vaira Sr. & Mary Vaira Memorial Scholarship$1,000Applicants should have a sustained record of academic excellence. This scholarship is intended for a first-generation college student–one whose parents did not earn a college degree.
Students who have dealt successfully with a disability, physical challenge, or chronic medical conditionGoydan Family Scholarship$2,000Applicants must have an IEP/life skills plan that includes intellectual challenge and/or physical disability who can benefit from post-secondary medical/physical/functional skills development which will facilitate their journey toward independent living/employment/schooling.
Students who have an IEP or students without an IEP who will pursue a special education majorAnita Kornosky Memorial Scholarship$1,500Applicants with an IEP should intend to pursue post-secondary training and applicants without an IEP should intend to pursue a major in special education. All applicants, regardless of IEP status, must have minimum 2.5 grade point average.
Students who have excelled in academics and athleticsNorman R. Candelore Sr. Academic and Athletic Memorial Scholarship$1,500Applicants must have been a member of an EFHS varsity sport and should have a sustained record of academic excellence and participation in extracurricular and community activities.
T.D. Club Football Scholarship$1,000Applicants must have been a member of the EFHS Football team during their senior year, should have a sustained record of academic excellence in high school, and be a well-rounded student involved in extra-curricular activities, leadership, volunteerism, and/or community service.
Students who will attend a technical or vocational school or study to become a nurseHarriett Colebank Hebenthal Technical, Vocational, or Nursing Program Scholarship$1,500Applicants must plan to attend a technical or vocational school or enroll in a nursing program and have a sustained record of school attendance, academics and citizenship.
Students who will major in educationFour Friends Education Scholarship$1,000Applicants must intend to major in education and have a sustained record of academic excellence and be a well-rounded student involved in school activities and community service. Elementary education majors will receive preference.
Miller-Ollendyke Education Scholarship$1,000Applicants must major in PK-12 elementary or secondary education, demonstrate academic achievement, and if possible, participate in extracurricular and leadership activities/awards.
Donna Shultz Memorial Scholarship$1,500Applicants must major in education at a four-year institution and have a sustained record of excellence, attendance, participation and service.
Students who will major in STEMCindy Miller Ollendyke STEM Scholarship$1,000Applicants must intend to study as a full-time student to pursue a degree in a STEM field or in science education and have a sustained record of academic excellence and participated in school activities.
Students who want to pursue a career in public serviceRendin/Lisi FBI Scholarship$1,000Applicants must intend to pursue a career in public service as a full-time student at a four-year college. Preference will be given to applicants wishing to go into some form of law enforcement but other areas of study such as military, legal, accounting, computer science, foreign language, and science will also be considered. Applicants should have a sustained record of academic excellence and participation in extra-curricular activities, especially community service.
Students attending specific collegesCarol Jean McKenzie Maurer Westminster College Scholarship$2,500Applicants must intend to study as a full-time student at Westminster College. This scholarship is intended for the student who challenges him/herself, gets good grades, participates in worthwhile activities, and makes good decisions for personal satisfaction and accountability rather than public accolades. Students majoring in secondary education and/or demonstrating financial need may be given preference.
